Formed in 1991
StyleRock, pop
Original line-up: James Reyne (vocals, guitar; ex-Australian Crawl), Daryl Braithwaite (vocals, guitar; ex-Sherbet), Simon Hussey (keyboards, drums; ex-Cats Under Pressure, James Reyne Band), Jef Scott (guitar, vocals; ex-James Reyne Band, Daryl Braithwaite Band)
Album: Company of Strangers (Sony, 1992).

History
Company of Strangers commenced as a songwriting venture for producer Simon Hussey and American-born guitarist Jef Scott. The pair recorded an album in December 1991 with assistance from James Reyne and Daryl Braithwaite in between commitments to their own successful solo careers. Scott had worked with Reyne and Braithwaite since 1987. Likewise Hussey was instrumental (in his role as producer) in the success of Braithwaite's 1989 comeback album Edge. Company of Strangers signed to Sony and issued Company of Strangers in November 1992. The album contained commercial rock pop and produced the singles `Sweet Love' (June 1992), `Motor City (I Get Lost)' (September), `Daddy's Gonna Make You a Star' (January 1993) and The Beatles' `Baby You're a Rich Man' (June 1993). `Sweet Love' peaked at #24.
