Steve Olafson of the Houston Chronicle has been fired for running a weblog on the side. First time I've heard of that happening. Olafson got a call from Chron editor Jeff Cohen, who he says told him, "I'm running a mainstream American newspaper. There's no place here for gonzo journalism…Take the fucking site down!"
