Doctor Who - The Wheel in Space

Patrick Troughton stars as the second Doctor in this six-part story from 1968 - only two episodes of which survive in the BBC Television Archives.

With linking narration by Wendy Padbury, who plays the Doctor's new companion Zoe, this 'lost' television adventure sees the return of the formidable Cybermen…

Taking drastic measures to escape a TARDIS malfunction, the Doctor and Jamie arrive on a rocket, apparently deserted in space – but they soon encounter its aggressive robot guard.

When a blow to the head renders the Doctor unconscious, it's up to Jamie to contact the nearby Wheel space station for help. However, the Wheel is soon under attack from the Doctor's old enemies the Cybermen, who intend to use the Wheel as a beacon for a full-scale invasion of Earth!

Will the Doctor, Jamie and the crew of the Wheel succeed in their bid to halt the approaching Cyber-fleet? With the space station already infiltrated by Cybermats, and many of the humans under hypnotic Cyber control, the odds are definitely stacked against them…

Doctor Who: The Wheel in Space will be available from from 3.05.04.
