It's a teaming of three successful people-Dhanush the hat-trick hero, producer SK Krishnakanth who had produced Dhanush's third hit 'Thiruda Thirudi', and SS Stanley who had directed the successful Srikant starrer 'April Maathathil'. The trio come together for a new film titled 'Puthukoattaiyllirinthu
One of the highlights of the film is a 'gaana' song that Dhanush has sung in his own voice under the baton of music director Yuvanshanker Raja. The song was picturised with Dhanush and Tharika (of 'Era Nilam') at a huge set, complete with waterfalls and a pond at the Prasad Studios. It took about five days to shoot the song, the vibrant choreography was done by dance master Dinesh. While director Stanley supervised the picturisation, G. Ramesh cranked the camera. Art-director Santhanam designed the set.
After many screen tests, the makers have zeroed in on Aparna, a visual communications student from the Loyola College, Chennai, as Dhanush's romantic pair. Tharika is roped in for an 'item' number. The cast also includes Karunas who has been paired with a Malaysian actress. Producers V. Gnyanavel and
Swaminathan (of Lakshmi Movie Makers) also play cameo roles in the film. Making his acting debut is stunt master Peter
The locations for the shooting includes Chennai, Kolkatta and Pudukoattai. The foreign locations selected include Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Bangkok, where the unit are on a one-month trip. Incidentally, this is Dhanush's first trip abroad.
After his three successes, '...Saravanan' is Dhanush's fourth film, and as to whether this film also would keep the hero's success graph moving up, one has to wait and watch.
