Plant Status Report - Cambridge Bay : 501 April 2001
PowerHouse
In 1958, original part of powerhouse was constructed on concrete pad. South half of the
powerhouse was constructed in 1966/67. Two old buildings were added to the rear in the1970's. These buildings are presently used as line storage and electrical workshop. Both are due to be removed. The entire powerhouse and additions are metal clad. The main building was re-roofed in 1995. The main powerhouse building requires fairly extensive repairs and upgrading, with a new washroom and heating system.
Storage Facilities
Storage Facilities consist of a small garage.
Office Facilities
The administration office is in rented space at the Co-op and there is an operations office set up in an old converted garage/warehouse building.

Fuel Tanks
Five vertical tanks installed within a metal berm. Metal berm built in 1989/90.
Two tanks are: 320,809 L each
One tank is: 443,037 L cap
One tank is: 956,820 L cap
One tank is: 962,432 L cap
Total Capacity: 3,803,917 L cap
 
Capital Work
A new air compressor and two new air receivers were installed in 1997 to upgrade the
air starter system. Tank farm was fenced in 1999.
Plant Forecast
Capacity of the plant is adequate for the present, but will require replacement of 3031317 in the near future. More heat recovery is possible but would require upgrading of the existing system.
Future Work
1. Tanks and berm require painting and major repairs
