Ennis Sisters sign with Rounder Records

The Ennis Sisters - Karen, Maureen and Teresa - have signed a recording, distribution and licensing agreement with Rounder Records Corporation based in Cambridge, Ma.

The agreement will not only see the release of their most recent studio recording - Ennis Sisters, released by Warner Music Canada last fall - but also their three past CDs and future recordings.

Ennis Sisters will likely be released early in 2003. "It's a priority for the label," says manager Andre Bourgeois. Singles It's Not About You and I'd Never Walk Away and accompanying videos, both of which reached No. 2 on CMT, will be released to stations around the U.S.

Rounder Records is also home to Alison Krauss, the Tragically Hip, Bruce Cockburn, Cowboy Junkies, Sarah Harmer, Jann Arden and Natalie MacMaster.

"For song-based folk-country-trad, America is the biggest market in the world," says Bourgeois.

"Rounder has an excellent track record of working with artists of that ilk, artists who are not based on one huge hit song or huge video. They have a strong history of sticking with projects and supporting touring. It's a really good fit and I feel comfortable leaving the Ennis Sisters in their hands."

In the last year the St. John's trio has performed in the U.S. from New York City to North Carolina to Ohio and the legendary House Of Blues in Chicago, Il. They have dates booked in California, Washington and Oregon through the end of the year and early next year will perform in Texas, Colorado and Kansas.
