CMDL Research at South Pole Featured in Ripley's "Believe It Or Not"

Jim Butler and Andy Clarke of CMDL spent a good part of January camped out near the South Pole, drilling into the 120 meter "firn" (compacted snow) to extract an air sample "archive." Ripley's found it unusual enough to feature it in their May 8 "Believe It Or Not." The cartoon and the photograph it was apparently based on can be viewed below.
