Shirley links in AR, TN & AL

I continue to run into the Shirley families from AL, TN, and AR being together in the same townships in AR, primarily in Sharp County and Independence County, AR. I feel that they must be related but no one has managed to hook them up together. It is very frustrating as I feel sure that they were related and knew their relationship back in the 1850's and 1860's. Can anyone in these three states be of help on this? I would sure like some help in untangling this. My Shirley line came from VA to SC to AL to AR and on to Texas and then to California. Can anyone shed any light?
