My ancestress, Catherine Shirley was born in 1648 at Donhead St Mary,Wiltshire,England to Samuel Shirley and Ann (nee Triptree). She had a brother John (bn 1634) and sister Anna (bn 1640) and she married William Lush (my ancestor) at Salisbury, Wiltshire in 1673. The family name was also variously spelt Sherley & Sherly.

Any information on the Shirleys of Donhead St Mary,Wiltshire,England and especially the origin of Samuel Shirley (probably born about 1620) would be gratefully received.
