: My grandparents are from Pineville, MS (Smith Co). My grandfathers name is Silas B Shirley Sr. He was born Oct 10, 1884 and died Dec 22, 1975. He married Bessie Reed Shirley...to this union Silas B Shirley Jr, Loise, Anna, Norbert, and Harrell were born. My father, Silas B Shirley Jr, moved from Pineville to Indiana when the steel mills opened and stayed up here. He and my mom, Althea V Griffin, had six children, Robert, Phyllis, Phillip, Bill, Richard and myself, Patricia. The only relatives I remember, besides my dad's sisters and brothers, are my Uncle Edgar and Aunt Noreen, who lived close by my grandaddy's.
