    2. I've heard a rumor about Episode III. Is it true?
While rumor and gossip has always been part of the film business, the age of the internet speeds them on their way with unprecedented velocity. Lucasfilm cannot possibly directly address every rumor. While speculation is a fun part of Star Wars fandom, you should take any report you hear as gossip, rumor or speculation unless you hear it direct from Lucasfilm. So, if you read it at starwars.com, it's true.

  3. Star Wars Lore and the Expanded Universe

    1. Why didn't Qui-Gon Jinn disappear when he died?
George Lucas has indicated that this will be revealed in Episode III. See Steve Sansweet's answer in the Lucasfilm Jedi Council for more information.

    2. Why does Ben tell Luke that he was trained by Yoda when Qui-Gon is his Master in Episode I?
While Episode III may explain further, the Jedi Apprentice book series from Scholastic reveals that Yoda trained Obi-Wan as a young child in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant before he was made Qui-Gon's Padawan as a young teen.

    3. What is the chronological order of the books and comics?
There are several official timelines in print, including Star Wars: The Essential Chronology and the Star Wars Encyclopedia. Del Rey has an online timeline of their Star Wars novels, as does Dark Horse for their comics. All new books will now be published with era symbols which will help you chronologically organize Star Wars fiction.

    4. I read something about a clone Emperor and Luke going over to the dark side of the Force. Where did that happen?
In 1991, Dark Horse Comics published their first Star Wars comic series called Star Wars: Dark Empire by Tom Veitch and Cam Kennedy in which a struggle with the resurrected Emperor Palpatine requires Luke to learn the secrets of the dark side. The series is available in a collected trade paperback through many book retailers, as is an audio adaptation. For more information on this series, check out the starwars.com feature The Dark Empire Saga.

    5. Who is Mara Jade? In what book did she marry Luke Skywalker?
Recent surveys have shown that Mara Jade is the most popular Star Wars character to have originated from the Expanded Universe. She first appeared in the 1991 novel Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn. Mara was once a trusted agent of Emperor Palpatine. When Palpatine died at the Battle of Endor, Mara was directionless and entered the fringe of society, working with a smuggler group. Luke Skywalker met her five years after the event of Return of the Jedi. Though their relationship was rocky at first, they eventually fell in love. Their marriage was chronicled by Michael A. Stackpole and Robert Teranishi in the comic series Union, by Dark Horse Comics.

    6. Who are Jaina, Jacen and Anakin Solo?
About four years after the Battle of Endor, Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa finally got married in Dave Wolverton's novel The Courtship of Princess Leia, published in 1994. In Timothy Zahn's novel The Last Command, Leia gives birth to twins Jacen and Jaina. Shortly thereafter, Leia has a third child named Anakin. All three are very powerful in the Force, and are now Jedi Knights.

    7. Is it true that Chewbacca died?
The fictional character of Chewbacca did indeed meet his end in the 1999 novel Vector Prime, the first novel of The New Jedi Order. His death underscores the sheer danger of the new alien menace introduced in the series.
