Feathers and Furbelows
Myrna is just one of the many delightful bruins created by Lenie Versteeg of Lea Bears. Measuring 26cm (10.24”) high, she is a limited edition of five pieces, sewn from sparse pale pink mohair with a black nose incorporating white and dark pink threads. She also wears a pretty red feathered head-dress. Lenie lives in the Netherlands and has worked as a full-time teddy artist since January 1998. To find out more, email lea.versteeg@zonnet.nl or visit her website at www.leabears.com
Curly Locks
Janet Changfoot of Changle Bears in South Africa has just added this sweet little fellow to her collection. Hobart is a one-of-a-kind measuring 38cm (15”) tall and sewn from light brown wavy mohair, with Janet's trademark airbrushing to enhance his features and large, needle-sculpted feet. With his soulful black eyes peeping through his fur, he looks like a little puppy hoping to be taken home! For more information, email footman@intekom.co.za or visit www.changlebears.homestead.com
Precious Jewel
Quartz by Jabelow Bears by Faye Low is as captivating as her namesake. Measuring 40.5cm (16”) tall, she is sewn from dense ivory alpaca with cream ultrasuede paw pads. Her huge taupe glass eyes have moulded eyelids and have been highlighted with pink artists' pigments to match her hand embroidered nose and her hand-made flower tiara. Her face has been meticulously trimmed and needle sculpted for an endearing expression and she features nut and bolt joints, plus she is filled with polyfibre and steel balls. To find out more about this lovely one-of-a-kind, call +44 (0)1353 662 195 or visit www.jabelowbears.com
