MILTON DAVENPORT: Rear Admiral, U.S. Navy, (72345), received
five Navy Crosses while serving as a Submariner during World War
II.
LEWIS BURWELL PULLER: Lieutenant General, U.S. Marine Corps,
(03158), received five Navy Crosses. Two for service in the Second
Nicaraguan Campaign, two for service in World War II and one for
service in the Korean War (also received a Distinguished Service
Cross for service in the Korean War). General Puller's five Navy Crosses and
one Distinguished Service Cross were all earned during ground
actions.
