New Orleans - The Crescent City - The Big Easy... A city with many names, a city with a rich cultural past. Ruled by the French, Spanish and finally the Americans, New Orleans took a little from each and today is a blend of all. Known for it's music, food, architecture and yes, its parties, New Orleans is the most unique city in the United States and at it's heart is the French Quarter (Vieux Carre).
The Quarter is not just another tourist destination, it is not another Disney World or theme park, the Quarter is a living, breathing neighborhood. The original neighborhood in a city of them - Treme, Faubourg Marigny, Garden District, Irish Channel... It is the blending of residents, business, narrow streets, architecture and feel that makes the Quarter's 10 million plus visitors each year want to come back.
So grab a drink (a "Hurricane" from Pat O's, a "Hand grenade" from Tropical Isle, or maybe a Mint Julep) and join me on a walk through The French Quarter...
