You should be aware that school district boundaries and municipal boundaries are not the same.

While the majority of district residents live in Garland, Rowlett, or Sachse, there are neighborhoods that are actually in neighboring school districts. For example:

A few neighborhoods in northeast Garland (Camelot, Spring Park, etc.) are in the Richardson ISD

A few in the south Garland are in the Mesquite ISD

Some homes in Rowlett are within the Rockwall ISD boundaries

A few in Sachse may be in Plano ISD or Wylie ISD.

There are even some homes within the city limits of Dallas that are within the boundaries of Garland ISD.

(Confusing, isn't it?)

If in doubt, it is best to consult a map of the district to determine whether your home or the home you are considering purchasing or leasing is within the boundaries of Garland ISD. If the address in question is on or near a borderline, you might want to consult with the Department of Student Services at 972-494-8255.

The district encompasses approximately 100 square miles. We are developing more detailed web page maps of the district that will allow patrons to see what schools are in a given neighborhood.

If you want a copy of the official district map, e-mail us your "snail mail" (US Mail) address along with the notation that you would like a copy of the map sent to you.

If you know the address of the school or administrative facility you are seeking, another option is to visit the Internet mapping sites (Map Blaster or Map Quest) linked to the City of Garland site.
