The Internet Movie Database offers registered users a number of ways to discuss and rate their favorite films and television shows. ALL USERS can read all these things, but only registered users can contribute their own opinions or ratings.
User Ratings: The simplest way to get your opinion out there... just cast a vote on our 1-to-10 scale for any film in the database. You can go to the film's page or use the power search to create a customized ballot of multiple films. Once more than 5 votes have been recorded for a film, a weighted average is created and you can see statistical and demographic breakdowns of the voting by clicking the "user ratings" link in the left-hand column of a film's page or use our ratings browser.
User Comments: Registered users can post comments on any title in the database. These can range from a paragraph of your thoughts to a brief review. To see all the user comments for a title, look for a "user comments" link in the left-hand column of its page.
IMDb General Message Boards: Carry on discussions on a wide variety of topics or play trivia games with your fellow users. ALL users can read the messages on the boards, but only registered users can post messages.
Title-Specific Message Boards: At the bottom of a title's page, you'll find a link to a special bulletin board just for discussing that title.
Links to Your Web Site: By clicking the "update" button at the bottom of the page for any title or person, registered users can begin the process of submitting links for reviews on their web sites or their own fan sites for a specific title or person.
For adding a link to your fan site for a person, look for the "Urls" section on the resulting page, click the checkbox, and click the "Add information on the above" button to go to the form for submitting the link.
For adding a link to a review of a title on your web site or to your fan site for a title, look for the "URLs to other sites" checkbox near the bottom of the resulting page. Check it and and click the "Add information on the above" button to go to the form for submitting the link.
Submitted links will go through a review process before they are added. Once you've submitted them, the confirmation will give you an estimated time before they'll show up in the database. If your link has not been added in that time, please email help@imdb.com to ask about it before resubmitting.
