Size: approx 44" x 64 1/2".

Materials: Worsted-weight yarn Berella "4" (100% Acrylic; 240 yds per 3.5 oz skein) by Bernat: 8 skeins Dark Antique Rose #8817 (A); 3 skeins Med. Sea Green #8877 (B); 2 skeins Natural #8940 (C). Size 6/G (4.25 mm) aluminum crochet hook or size needed to obtain Gauge.

Gauge: 7 (sc, ch 1) = 4"; Rnds 1-2 of Strip = 1 1/2" across. To save time, take time to check your gauge.

Special Stitches

  • Beg Puff St: (Yo, draw up a lp) twice, yo, draw through 5 lps on hook.
  • Puff St: (Yo, draw up a lp) 3 times, yo, draw through 7 lps on hook.
  • Shell St: Work 3 dc in specified st.

Notes

  • Work in back loop of sts unless otherwise stated.
  • Work all rows with RS facing, joining yarn at beg and fastening off at end of each row. Crochet over cut ends of previous row to avoid weaving in later.

Afghan
First Strip:
With A, ch 204.
Rnd 1: (RS) Sc in 2nd ch from hook; * ch 1, sk next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * across, ch 3, sc again in last ch; working along other side of ch, rep from * to end of ch, ch 3; sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Sl st in first ch-1 sp, ch 3, beg puff st; * ch 1, sk next sc, puff st in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to end ch-3 sp, ch 1, sk next sc, [(puff st, ch 2) twice, puff st] in end ch-3 sp **; work from * to **, ch 1, sl st in top of beg ch-3--101 puff sts each side and 3 at each end. Fasten off A.
Rnd 3: With RS facing, attach B with a sl st in first ch-1 sp at left of 3 puff sts at either end, ch 1, sc in same sp; * ch 1, sk puff st, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to puff st before first end ch-2 sp, ch 1, sk next puff, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next ch-2 sp, ch 3, sk next puff st, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next ch-2 sp **; work from * to **, ch 1, sl st in first sc.
Rnd 4: Sl st in first ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp; * shell in next ch-1 sp, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * across to end ch-3 sp, work 7 dc in ch-3 sp **; work from * to **, sc in next ch-1 sp, shell in next ch-1 sp; sl st in first sc. Fasten off B.

Work and join rem 6 strips on one side in same manner. Weave in all ends.
