Size: Each motif = 6” square; Afghan = 44” x 62” 

Note: Work with 2 strands held tog throughout. 

Afghan: Square: Make 70, working CC as follows on Rnd 2: 17 with A, 18 with B, 18 with C, and 17 with D. With MC, ch 3, sl st in first ch to form ring. Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), keeping last lp of each on hook, work 2 dc in ring, yo, draw through all lps on hook (beg cluster), ch 2, [keeping last lp of each on hook, work 3 dc in ring, yo, draw through all lps on hook (cluster), ch 2] 7 times, sl st to top of beg ch-3. Fasten off. Rnd 2: Join CC with sl st in any ch-2 sp around, ch 3 (counts as first dc), in same sp work (beg cluster, ch 2, cluster); * ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, (cluster, ch 2, cluster) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * twice more, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, sl st in top of beg ch-3. Fasten off leaving an 18” sewing tail. 

Finishing: With right sides tog, sew squares following Placement 
Diagram. Outer Border: Join MC in any corner, ch 3 (counts as first dc), in same sp work (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc); * dc in each dc, cluster and ch-1 sp to next corner, work (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in corner; rep from * around, sl st in top of beg ch-3. Fasten off.
