Gauge: One rep of Pat St A (45 sts and 40 rows) = 9 1/4".
One rep of Pat St B (11 sts and 12 rows) = 2 1/2".
Edging = 3" (6" including loops)

Size: Approx 50" x 62" (50" x 68" including loops).

Materials: Worsted-weight yarn "Spinrite Berella Polar", 75% Acrilan acrylic/25%wool, 3 1/2-oz. skein: 20 skeins #9706 Natural. Knitting needles, size 10 1/2 (6.5 mm), or size to obtain gauge. Crochet hook size 10/J (6 mm). Cable needle. Stitch Markers. Yarn needle.

3/1LPC: Sl 3 sts to cn and hold in front, p1, k3 from cn.
3/1RPC: Sl 1 st to cn and hold in back, k3, p1 from cn.

Finishing
Sew panels tog. Using crochet hook, work 1 row of sc along top and bottom edges.

Edging (make 2)
CO 40 sts.
Row 1: (RS): K37, yo, k2 tog, k1.
Row 2: Sl 1, k2, purl to end.
Row 3: BO 28 sts, k8, yo, k2 tog, k1—12 sts; first strip made.
Row 4: Sl 1, k11.
Rows 5, 7, 9, & 11: K9, yo, k2 tog, k1.
Row 6: Sl 1, k2, p9.
Row 8: Sl 1, k11.
Row 10: Sl 1, k2, purl to end.
Row 12: Sl 1, k11, turn work and CO 28 sts onto LH needle—40 sts.

Sew Edging Strips to top and bottom of Afghan.
