Welcome to the web site of the Educational Activities Board.  The Board takes an active leadership position in the educational activities of the society and directly reports to the Board of Governors. The mission of the Education Activities Board is to develop, implement and evaluate all educational activities in the computer fields at all levels.

Curriculum Work

• Computing Curriculum Development - There are volumes of information
  Develop curriculum recommendations for programs in computing.

Accreditation Activities

• Monitor and evaluate current curriculum accreditation guidelines in the field of computing and recommend changes as needed. Visit the CSAB, Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC/ABET) and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Continuing Education and Distance Learning

• Develop and implement various continuing education programs in the areas of computer science and engineering including development and offering of continuing education courses, professional development seminars, and tutorials.
  
  • The IEEE Computer Society offers its members 100 online training courses through its Distance Learning Campus.
    
  • The Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) Program is a certification program for software engineers.

Pre-College Activities

• The goal is to develop independent modules on computing related topics that will be useful to pre-college teachers and students.
  
  • A useful source is Tech Corps whose goal is to provide information, primarily via the Web, to K-12 teachers in all disciplines that will faciliate their use of technology in the classroom.
    
  • Cyber Careers for the Net Generation - guide to exploring IT jobs.
