Notes
Use a separate bobbin for each block of color. Carry colors loosely along wrong side of work. When changing colors, twist yarns on wrong side to prevent holes.

BERRY LEAVES CAP

Size: 181/4" circumference

Materials: Worsted-weight yarn Berella 4 (100% Acrylic; 3 1/2 oz skein) by Bernat: 1 skein each Deep Sea Green #8876 (MC) and Lt. Sea Green #8878 (CC); small amount each of Lt. Antique Rose #8815 (A), Med. Antique Rose #8816 (B), and Deep Eggplant #8801 (C). Knitting needles, sizes 7 and 8 (4.5 and 5 mm), or size needed to obtain Gauge. Yarn needle.

Gauge: In St st with larger needles,18 sts = 4"; 24 rows = 4". To make sure hat will fit correctly, take time to check your gauge.

Special Stitch
Bobble: CO 1 st. Knit into front and back of same st twice, then knit into front again--5 sts. Turn, work 4 rows St st on these 5 sts, then with left-hand needle, pass 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th sts over first st. BO and cut yarn leaving a sewing tail. Hat

With smaller needles and MC, CO 82 sts. Work garter st (k every row) for 1". Change to larger needles and, beg with a knit row, work St st (k on RS, p on WS) for 6", ending after a WS row. Crown Shaping: Row 1: (RS) [K2 tog] across--41 sts.
Row 2: P1, [p2 tog across]--21 sts.
Row 3: K1, [k2 tog across]--11 sts.
Row 4: Rep Row 2--6 sts. Pass 5 sts over first st and BO.

Leaf (Make 6)
With smaller needles and CC, CO 7 sts.
Row 1: (RS) K3, yo, k1, yo, k3--9 sts.
Rows 2, 4, 6, 10, and 12: Purl across.
Row 3: K4, yo, k1, yo, k4--11 sts.
Row 5: K5, yo, k1, yo, k5--13 sts.
Row 7: BO 3 sts, k2, yo, k1, yo, k6--12 sts.
Row 8: BO 3 sts, p8--9 sts.
Row 9: Rep Row 3--11 sts.
Row 11: Rep Row 5--13 sts.
Row 13: Rep Row 7--12 sts.
Row 14: Rep Row 8--9 sts.
Row 15: Rep Row 3--11 sts.
Rows 16, 18, 22, and 24: Rep Row 2.
Row 17: Rep Row 5--13 sts.
Row 19: BO 3 sts, k9--10 sts.
Row 20: BO 3 sts, p6--7 sts.
Row 21: K2 tog, k3, k2 tog--5 sts.
Row 23: K2 tog, k1, k2 tog--3 sts.
Row 25: Sl 1, k2 tog, psso--1 st rem. BO and cut yarn leaving a sewing tail.

Berry
Work 6 bobbles each of A, B, and C.

Finishing
Sew back seam. Following photo, sew leaves to hat top. Tie clusters of 3 bobbles each to leaves.

GRAPE HAT

Size: 18-20" circumference

Materials: Worsted-weight yarn Berella 4 (100% Acrylic; 3 1/2 oz skein) by Bernat: one skein each Midnight #8805 (MC), Lt. Damson #8854 (A), Med. Damson #8855 (B), Damson #8996 (C), Med. Sea Green #8877 (D); small amount each of Pale Olive #8880 (E), Walnut #8916 (F), and Deep Eggplant #8801 (G). Knitting needles, sizes 7 and 8 (4.5 and 5 mm), or size needed to obtain Gauge. Size 8/H (5 mm) aluminum crochet hook. Yarn needle.

Gauge: In St st with larger needles,18 sts = 4"; 24 rows = 4". To make sure hat will fit correctly, take time to check your gauge.

Special Stitch
Ssk: (slip, slip, knit) Sl first 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right-hand needle, insert tip of left-hand needle through front of both lps, and k2 tog.
Bobble: CO 1 st. Knit into front and back of same st twice, then knit into front againÑ5 sts. Turn, work 4 rows St st on these 5 sts, then with left-hand needle, pass 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th sts over first st. BO and cut yarn leaving a sewing tail.
Tube st: CO 5 sts.
Row 1: (Right Side): K1, (sl 1 as if to purl, k1) twice.
Row 2: (Sl 1 as if to purl, p1) twice, sl 1.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for Tube St.

Hat

With larger needles and MC, CO 84 sts. Work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) for 8", ending after a WS row.
Crown Shaping: Row 1: (RS) [K2 tog] across--42 sts.
Row 2: [P2 tog] across--21 sts.
Row 3: K1, [k2 tog] across--11 sts.
Row 4: P1, [p2 tog] across--6 sts.
Thread a length of yarn through rem sts and pull tightly to close. Knot to secure. Sew back seam, letting bottom 2 1/2" roll upward.

Grapes
Using smaller needles, make 28 bobbles with A, 18 with B, 24 with C, and 4 with G.

Leaf (Make 4)
With D and smaller needles, CO 5 sts.
Note: When desired, change to color E to work tips of leaves.
Row 1: (RS) K2, yo, k1, yo, k2--7 sts.
Row 2 and all WS Rows: Purl.
Row 3: K3, yo, k1, yo, k3--9 sts.

Row 5: K4, yo, k1, yo, k4--11 sts.
Row 7: Ssk, k7, k2 tog--9 sts.
Row 9: Ssk, k5, k2 tog--7 sts.
Row 11: Ssk, k3, k2 tog--5 sts.
Row 13: Ssk, k1, k2 tog--3 sts.
Row 15: K3 tog--1 st. BO and cut yarn leaving a sewing tail.
Stem: With F and smaller needles, work Tube st for 1 1/2". BO, leaving a tail for sewing.

Finishing
Sew leaves evenly spaced around top of hat. Refer to photo. Using crochet hook, pull end of each bobble through a st and knot 3 times. To shape grape bunch, start at bottom with darkest color and end at top with lightest color. Make 3 clusters around top of hat, tying one over seam. Note: Placing leaves and grape clusters at random adds to the individuality of your hat. Sew Stem to center top of hat.

DIAMOND BORDER HAT

Size: 22 3/4" circumference

Materials: Worsted-weight yarn Berella 4 (100% Acrylic; 3 1/2 oz skein) by Bernat: one skein each Dk Lagoon #8822 (A), Damson #8996 (B), and Med. Gold #8811 (C). Knitting needles, size 8 (5 mm), or size needed to obtain Gauge. Faceted sew-on square rhinestones, 10 red. Cable needle. Stitch holder. Yarn needle. Sewing needle and thread to match rhinestones

Gauge: In St st,18 sts = 4"; 25 rows = 4". To make sure hat will fit correctly, take time to check your gauge.

Cable Pat (worked on 8 sts; a rep of 6 rows)
Rows 1 and 5: (RS) P2, k4, p2.
Row 2 and all WS Rows: K2, p4, p2.
Row 3: P2, sl 2 sts to cn and hold in back, k2, k2 from cn, p2.
Row 6: Rep Row 2.
Rep Rows 1-6 for Cable Pat.

Hat

Knotted Edging:(Make 7 each from A and C)
CO 8 sts. Work 34 rows in St st (k RS rows; p WS rows), ending after a WS row. Break yarn and sl sts to st holder. Alternating colors, sl sts from each knotted edging to left-hand needle.
Joining Row: With RS facing, cross 2nd strip over first strip, bringing cast-on edge of 2nd strip in back of sts of first strip on needle. With A, *pick up 1 st from cast-on edge and k tog with first st on needle, k next st on needle, sk 1 st from cast-on edge; rep from * until 8 sts of first strip have been worked. Bring cast-on edge of first strip over 2nd strip and hold in back. In same manner, k cast-on edge tog with 2nd strip. Cont to join alternate strips tog until 7 knots have been worked--112 sts. K 1 row, dec 9 sts evenly spaced across row--103 sts. Cont to work in garter st (k every row) and A for 6 rows (3 ridges on RS). Change to C and St st.

Beg Chart: (RS) K2 with C; *rep 10 sts of chart across row, ending k1 with C. Note: Read RS, or odd-number, rows from right to left and WS, or even-number, rows from left to right. Cont to work 11 rows of chart as est.
Turning Row: (WS) K across. Cont to work in St st with C for 11 rows from turning row, ending after a RS row and inc 7 sts evenly spaced across last row--110 sts. RS of brim will now be WS of crown.
Beg Cable Pat: (RS) K6 with B; *work 8 sts of Cable Pat with C, k10 with B; rep from * across, ending work 8 sts of Cable Pat with C, k6 with B. Cont to work in pats as est until piece measures 6" from Turning Row.
Next Row: Keeping colors as est, *k1, k2 tog; rep from * across, ending k2--74 sts.
Next Row: *P1, p3 tog; rep from * across, ending p2--56 sts.
Next Row: *K2 tog; rep from * across--28 sts. Thread a length of yarn through rem sts and pull to close. Knot to secure.

Finishing
Sew back seam. Fold to RS. Sew a rhinestone to each diamond, tacking brim in place.
