Size: approximately 18" wide x 9" high without edging
Filet Basics used in this pattern:
| | | = (1 block made up of 3 dc)
| _ _ = (1 empty block made up of 1 dc, ch 2 skipping 2 ch of previous row)
| | | | | | | _ _ = ( 2 filled blocks, 1 empty block made up of 7 dc (the 7th dc is the 1st dc of the empty block, ch 2 skipping 2 ch of previous row)
| | | | _ _ | | | = (2 filled block, 1 empty block, 1 filled block made up of 4 dc (the 4th dc is the 1st dc of the empty block, ch 2 skipping 2 ch of previous row, 3 dc of next filled block).
Materials:
DMC Baroque (ecru) Thread There is no size indicated on the thread's wrapper.
Hook: Size 1.14MM (US 8)
Gauge: 10 dc to 1 inch (depends on thread, tension, hook)
Directions:
Base row: Has 151 chains (15 blocks of 3ch +1), + 3 ch for 1st dc of row 2 Each block = 3 dc. (represented by a colored block on the chart)
Empty blocks = 1 dc, 2 ch. (represented by an empty block on the chart)
Follow the chart, crocheting empty and filled blocks to form the pattern.
Edging:
1st row: (5 ch, 1 sl st) around all 4 four borders.
2nd row: (3 sc, 1 p, 3 sc) in each loop of edging row 1 The chain and the first two rows of the pattern are important. After they are established, the rest of the pattern is simply the process of crocheting filled and empty blocks to complete the pattern.
