Annual Fund

You give generously of your time and efforts every day to support the future of our nation's parks and recreation movement. NRPA, your national organization, also requests your help so that we may continue to deliver the superior grade of educational offerings, publications, and advocacy that you've grown to expect. By contributing to the NRPA Annual Fund, you've cast another vote of confidence and support for America's parks and recreation.

FAQs

What is the NRPA Annual Fund?
The NRPA Annual Fund is the organization's foundation of giving. The parks and recreation movement in America benefits from the generous contributions of individuals and organizations. NRPA requests the support of all members and friends for the Annual Fund.

Why should I support it?
Because you support parks and recreation, and NRPA needs your help to serve most efficiently and effectively as the national voice advocating parks, recreation, and healthy lifestyles for all Americans. Without you and your generous support, our job would be much more difficult--if not impossible--to complete.

How much should I contribute?
This is, of course, your decision and depends upon the amount with which you are comfortable. Our hope is that contributors will establish a regular tradition of giving so that the fund will become self-supporting, and we can turn our attention to the greater good of parks and recreation.

In what form should I make my contribution?
NRPA requests that you make your contribution in one of three formats:
  • Personal check: Please make checks payable to the NRPA Annual Fund.
  • Credit card: NRPA accepts donations charged on Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
  • Gifts of stock: Giving stock is often more tax advantageous than giving cash.

Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Yes. Because the Internal Revenue Service has designated the National Recreation and Park Association a nonprofit, 501(c)3 service and educational association, your donation to the NRPA Annual Fund is always tax-deductible.

How will my contribution be used?
The NRPA Board of Trustees, in cooperation with the Development Committee and NRPA's executive director, will oversee the disbursement of funds. Revenue raised from NRPA's Annual Fund will be used to enhance membership services, sustain software that will offer better communication opportunities among NRPA members and staff, develop technology to establish distance-learning opportunities, promote the development of grassroots initiatives, and leave a legacy of financial support for the organization.

Note: All payments must be received by December 31, 2004, to be counted toward the 2004 Annual Fund.
