James C. Cantalini
Chief Executive Officer
Jim joined Gist Communications Inc. in January 2001 from an extensive career in the Investment Banking industry. He was previously with UBS Warburg as a Managing Director in senior management and client management roles. Earlier, he ran Spring Capital Group, a private investment boutique specializing in private investment, debt restructuring and international privatization. His career has also included business-building and transaction execution positions at Credit Suisse First Boston, Lehman Brothers and Bankers Trust. His international experience includes transactions in Germany, France, United Kingdom, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Australia and Italy. He earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, in addition to a Masters in International Economics from the University of Louvain (Belgium) and an undergraduate degree in History from Holy Cross College.

Ned Wiley
Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Ned joined Gist in February of 2001. Previously, Mr. Wiley was the Chief Communications Officer with Only.com, an Internet media publishing company. Prior to that, he was Managing Director at the Executive Recruiting firm Gundersen Partners, where he opened the first overseas office in Brussels. Previously, he was the Director of International Marketing at Manpower International in Brussels where he was responsible for developing marketing programs for ManpowerÕs international operations. Prior to that, Mr. Wiley has also held senior executive positions in both the United States and Europe with Procter and Gamble and the advertising agencies Foote, Cone & Belding and Publicis. He is fluent in six languages, including German, French and Italian. Mr. Wiley obtained a B.A. from the University of Chicago and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business as well as a diploma from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.

Dave Ruderman
Vice President, Technology
Before joining Gist, David Ruderman designed software for web sites including Time, Money, Fortune, Entertainment Weekly. At Time Warner's Pathfinder site, he developed web applications for community building, text retrieval, and content management. He has developed electronic books for Times Mirror, and at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Dave even worked on one of the first human-genome databases. In 1984, Dave co-founded the hacker zine 2600. He earned his Master Degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and holds a Bachelor Degree in Biology.

John Pomponio
Vice President, Finance & Treasurer
John Pomponio has an extensive background in the financial services industry. He began his financial career as a real estate broker with the firm WS & G Real Estate, where he sold commercial properties, secured financing, and analyzed transactions. For five years, John was Financial Controller for David Elliot Construction Corporation, a $5 million company. Immediately prior to Gist, he worked as a Personal Financial Planner with American Express. John received his B.A in Financial Management from Boston University and an MBA concentrating in Investment Analysis & Portfolio Management from Pace University.

Georg Müller-Loeffelholz
Director Business Development, Europe
Georg MŸller-Loeffelholz started at GIST in May 2000 in the New York office to start up the European operation. Prior to that, he was the Technical Producer for the Offline Entertainment Group, one of the leading U.S. production houses, where he was responsible for the technical realization of their Internet TV Channel project. Previously, he worked for Germany's leading publisher, Gruner & Jahr, which is part of the Bertelsmann Group. During his three years at G&J, Mr. Müller-Loeffelholz was Director of Production working on major television programs and specials for national and international broadcasters including ARD, Arte and the Discovery Channel. Mr. Müller-Loeffelholz started his career as a successful freelance photographer in Germany, working with several of the country's leading daily newspapers and magazines. He holds a B.A. from the European University of Montreux, Switzerland.

Frank Rosengart
Technical Director
Before joining GIST as Technical Director in fall 2003, Frank Rosengart was responsible for video server and play-out technology at convergence integrated media, Berlin - a pioneering company in the standardization of interactive television through the Multimedia Home Platform (MHP). Frank holds a Master of Computer Science degree (master's thesis on "Video-on-demand systems in real environments") and specializes in MPEG-encoding, transport stream multiplexing, DSM-CC and IP-streaming. He steered several open-source driver projects for MHP on Linux. During his studies, Frank Rosengart worked as a freelance cameraman and video editor for several TV stations in Berlin.

Valdimar Wik
Technical Director
Since summer 2003, Valdimar Wik is responsible for software development at GIST. The Norwegian native got introduced to interactive TV while developing a protoptype EPG for Philips Semiconductors in 1997. Valdimar joined OpenTV in Paris in 1999 and advanced rapidly from development engineer to application deployment manager. In this capacity, he was responsible for numerous digital television projects, including development, broadcast architecture, technical specifications, and project planning and budgeting. So far he has worked on digital TV projects in over 15 countries. Valdimar holds a first class honors degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey (UK) as well as Norwegian qualifications for the protected title "Sivilingeniør".
