From our solid understanding of the terrestrial coordinates, we can start to think about how we could describe the position of bodies beyond the Earth.  To make this process easier, we will imagine a sphere concentric to the Earth at infinite distance from the Earth. We will use this celestial sphere as the basis for our investigations into celestial coordinates and celestial mechanics. Even as we recognize the inaccuracies created by the celestial sphere model, we will recognize its usefulness to our comprehension.
