Welcome to Ustinov College

Welcome to Ustinov College, the graduate college of the University of Durham. Ustinov College offers a relaxed environment in which postgraduate students can find the support and facilities they need to concentrate on their work.

The college was established in 1965, as the Graduate Society. We were renamed Ustinov College in 2002, in honour of the University Chancellor, Sir Peter Ustinov.

Membership is available to all postgraduate students, studying on research or taught degrees, diplomas and certificates. Our membership is extremely varied, with younger and more mature members, and many international students.

There are currently around 1400 members, which is 70% of current full-time postgraduates. Approximately 60% are international students.

The College provides a large number of different accommodation , all self-catering, and there are also some family flats. Other facilities include bars and social areas at Parson's Field and Howlands, laundrettes and computer rooms.
