Date and time interviewed : 9/25/99, 1:20 am (no time like the present then... - Infern0)

01 What's your gaming nickname and is there any particular reason why you chose it?

Well, on the forums I use the identity of -=Akimbo=-. But as for gaming, everywhere, I'm use FireFox. Been using that since Quake was just out and it just sounded pretty cool and it stuck. I used to be on MPlayer playing Classic Blood as LeadRaccoon, but MPlayer got too damned slow. (when wasn't it slow? - Infern0)
02 Do you use a custom character config and, if so, how is it setup?
Strength : 3
Resistance : 3
Speed : 2
Focus : 2
03 What weapons do you include in your arsenal?
I've played very little Blood 2 DM, but here's what I prefer..

01 : Assault Rifle
02 : Flare Gun
03 : Sawed Off Shotgun
04 : Sniper Rifle
05 : Howitzer
06 : Tesla Cannon
07 : Napalm Launcher
08 : Proximity Mines
09 : Voodoo Doll
10 : Life Leech

04 Do you prefer bloodbath, standard teamplay or CTF?
Depends on the time of day, day, phase of the moon, whatever :) Usually just BB and CTF though.
05 What maps are you best on?
Cradle to Grave
06 Which weapon do you think induces the most lag?
Vulcan Cannon definately.
07 What is the funniest kill you've performed or received?
It was in a Classic Blood Bloodbath. I was getting chewed up with the tommygun, swapping lead with my foe, eventually he ran out of ammo just as he got that last hit, sending me to my knees. He walked up with some TNT and proceeded to light a couple and drop them around me. I finally snapped out of the daze and managed to strafe around him and jumped away as the TNT went off, reducing him to a fine red liquid while I survived. (don't you just love it when that happens ;) - Infern0)
08 What's your standard way of carrying out a humiliation death?
I usually overkill it, either by alt-fire flare gun justice, a bunch of proxy mines, or a shot of napalm.
09 What games do you play online apart from Blood 2?
Half Life (TFC, Counter Strike, Oz) and Quake 1 and 2.
10 What is your all-time favourite weapon from any game?
It's a three way tie, I think. From Blood, it would be the Flare Gun and the Spray Can, and from Half Life, the egon gun.
11 What is your all-time favourite map from any game?
Most definately Cradle to Grave from Classic Blood. The setting was just perfect and for me, pretty much established the whole mood and feel of Blood.
12 What do you think the future holds for Blood 2?
I think things are looking up actually. I believe there's some good ideas and designers around so something good is bound to come up. Hell, when I get a little beefier system, I've been planning on bringing an old Classic Blood project to Blood 2. That may be a little while though...
13 What tips do you have to share with your fellow bloodbathers?
Keep moving. Don't go too out of your way to get a special item or ammo. If you are good enough, you sometimes don't need them. But at the same time, know your limits and keep your ego in check.
14 How can people contact you so they may try and damage your bloodbathing prowess?
I'm not taking too many challenges right now. My connection's pretty horrid.
15 What do you think about PlanetBlood and is there anything else you would like to see on it? (this is also the place where you can plug your sites)
Nice layout, very very cool design. Maybe a couple more things to Extra Blood can be added, to also include Classic Blood.
16 Do your prefer hand-drawn or computer generated artwork?
I like a mixture of it actually. I've seen some pretty bad hand drawn art and computer art, but I've also seen extremely well done of both. It depends I think, of the skill of the artist. About half of my art is hand drawn, but then, I usually do scan it and computer color it making up the other half of the art I do. You can do some pretty impressive stuff nowadays with Photoshop and I think that more people should learn this program or at least play around with it at some point.
17 How did you go about making 'Blood Red Moon'?
The original image was just a plain pencil sketch. It took maybe 30 to 45 minutes to do. I work pretty fast. It looked a little bland, so I scanned it and started to work with Photoshop to see what I can do with it. The first version was a inverted image, like a lot of the ones that appear on the Planet Blood site, the white lines used rather then black to define the image. After that, I adjusted the color of the image to a deep red and cleaned up some of the trouble areas like the eyes. That was it.
18 Do you have any other work on display?
I do have an art site up, but it's a bit different, more devoted to my usual style of anthropomorphic art. If you don't know what anthropomorphic means, by all means, check it out. Uhm. Well, check it out anyways. It can be found at I do have a few pictures of Caleb up there as well, except as an anthropomorphic animal, specifically a raccoon. I think they turned out pretty well, go check them out. :)
Closing Comment : A very nice interview there, I'll try resurrecting the Extra Blood section sometime, but I want to get the fanart section in business again first ;) - Infern0
