Community News | 12/11/2004 | 4:40 PST - Pappy-R The first week of the four-week "prize round" is a done deal and we've got winners! It's far from over and it's still very much anyone's ballgame so make sure you start hitting tomorrow's "Movie Quote" like a Strogg mating with a Buick. Yesterday's quote from "Open Range" must have been a real tough one since only two got it right out of all the entries. MUAHAHA! First in for three points was D14p3rW4r with CybrVillain scooping two for Second. GG all!
Just a little refresher on how this all works, you just "Name That Flick" and your points add up. The three quickest entrants get three points for First, two for Second and one for Third throughout the week and on Saturday I add up the points to decide the weekly First, Second and Third who then get three points for First, two for Second and one for Third. It's these weekly points that carry on through and will be totaled at the end of the round. Now here's how this week wound up.
CybrVillain: 14 First!
D14p3rW4r: 11 Second!
HolyRoller: 3 Third!
Great week gang, now get ready for week two that starts tomorrow!

Community News | 12/10/2004 | 6:15 PST - Pappy-R I've been thinking a bunch about the impending(?) release of the Quake III Arena source code as per John Carmack's comments back in August. Now I know it wasn't promised or given a solid release schedule, and I'm not going to be moaning or bitching if it's not out by the end of the year, I just can't stop thinking about what some already existing mods could do with it. And then there's the engine mods, oh my. How can I not be thinking about it?! OK, some drooling is involved as well.
Yesterday's quote from "The Terminator" got plenty of entries and a few of them made me tilt my head like a dog wondering what that noise was you just made with your other cheeks. But grins aren't worth points and only the top three get the points. First in for three was CybrVillain with two going to Warden in Second and D14p3rW4r scoops the last point for Third. GG all!

Community News | 12/9/2004 | 6:03 PST - Pappy-R I hope anyone wanting to kick my butt in Quake 3 at the East Coast LAN Party is practicing up. I'm workin' it here, and since fragging me will
get people some swag, I'm gonna make sure I'm a tough target. The event is coming up quick and runs from
Jan. 7th to the 9th in New Jersey so anyone on the east side should definately sign up and "frag in the New
Year" with some serious LAN sharks. There's even some swag up for grabs already with a wallpaper contest
that runs until Dec. 21st, check it
out!
The first week of the "special prize round" for the movie quotes is definately heated and it should be an
intense month what with you all flexing your brains for some booty. Yesterday's quote from "The Santa
Clause" stumped most and only four got it right. That's more than enough so that I have to give all the points
away on this one though. DOH! First in for three was D14p3rW4r leaving two for
HolyRoller in Second and the last point for Third goes to Mechanic. GG all!
Movie Quote:"It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel
pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

Morning Gas
Community News | 12/8/2004 | 6:08 PST - Pappy-R Hump day already! I got a bit behind getting the new pup into a routine, or adjusting to hers would be more correct, but I'm back on track and I hope to even get some frags in tonight if the power stays on. We lost power last night for about two hours and it came on just as I gave up and decided to hit the sack. Dagnabit! Yesterday was double funky as IRC (irc.enterthegame.com #planetquake) was dumping and not connecting in spurts as well, so if you'd like to get some game on later today, I'm there!
The quote from "Twister" yesterday actually got more than a couple wrong answers and I must say "neener, neener, neener!" to those that fumbled. It is my right, it's all I get outta this really. But I can't gloat over quite a few of you who got it spot on, but only the quickest get the points around these parts. First in for three was old windy himself, CybrVillain with D14p3rW4r scoring two for Second and HolyRoller making it to the storm cellar with the last point and Third. GG all!
Movie Quote:"We're your worst nightmare. Elves with attitude."Name that flick!
