[01/12/04 14:32] A Mario pinball game - it sounds like a winning combination but, as GamesMaster discovers, Mario's full of surprises...
Turning Mario into a ball and batting him around a pinball Mushroom Kingdom seems a bit harsh, but then Mario seems to be quite up for it as it's the only way to save Peach. Super Mario Ball has a multitude of different pinball tables. To move from one to the next you have to make it through the exit doors, finding the hidden star on each table as you go. The tables are nice enough, but as a pinball game this is far from perfect. The ball bounces about like a balloon, and it's near impossible to use the flippers to accurately shoot the ball where you want it to go. Instead it drifts about hitting things that randomly fill the screen - it's all a matter of luck as opposed to skill. This is one of the most frustrating games we've played on GBA. Muddies the name of Mario and pinball in one cack-handed attempt. Super Mario Ball is out now for GBA Overall: 58% |
