John Raymond Kofonow of Flagstaff
John Raymond Kofonow of Flagstaff
John Raymond Kofonow of Flagstaff has been the Slam Master of the Flagstaff Poetry Slam since May 2002.

Three years after graduating from Northern Arizona University in 2000 with a degree in Visual Communication, he has worked his way into owning his own business. He claims that organizing the slams and owning a business leaves him no time for writing anymore, but it's really because he spends his free time thinking up drinking games to be played while listening to NPR.

John was a member of the NAU Slam Pirates of 2002 who plundered the College Unions Poetry Slam in Cleveland leaving no metaphor un-marauded and no simile un-scurvied.

He coached the 2002 and 2003 Flagstaff National Poetry Slam Teams and the 2004 NORthern AriZona National Poetry Slam Team.
