Worm Defaces Websites

Websites running phpBB forum software are at risk from the Santy worm.

The worm uses the ‘highlight’ vulnerability to deface websites. All users of the software are urged to upgrade to version 2.0.11 urgently.

The worm scans the “advanced search” page at Google in an attempt to find other vunerable websites.

Text-Only Navigation Moved

This update applies to users who access the text-only version of UKSprite.

When viewing UKSprite through the text-only layout you will find that the left column navigation links are automatically relocated to the bottom of each page.

This is to provide access to the content of each page quickly and removes the need to scroll past the navigation column.

To access the navigation column in the text-only version you can either scroll to the bottom of the page or alternatively use the access key ‘X’ to jump directly to the navigation.

We hope this change increases the usability of the text-only version of UKSprite.
