Hi Paul,

Interesting site. I'm an atheist not a follower of any religion but it's good to see your thoughts and to know that Paul Winchell is still thinking and busy.

Dear Paul:

Believing that God exists is not the same as believing what He says. Millions believe that God exists, unfortunately they don't believe in what He says.

How can any know what God says, or believe He is the one who said it? Read the following in John 1:1-14

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. 6 There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-14)

In essence, Paul, the Word (the Bible) is God, and the Word became flesh, in the person of Jesus (Christ, which means savior), and to those who recognize, received and believed in His name, received the right to become His children. Regardless of much study of a myriad of religions, all of our human journey hangs on these fourteen verses in John 1:1-14 More importantly, Paul, God loves you, He wants to embrace you and heal you all of your past wounds, and give you eternal rest.

We have met in the past, we debated this topic on TV, and you have always been in my prayers.

Love and peace!

I've read some of your 'book' and find it a fascinating version of history. You are indeed an intellectual but I'm still
sticking with Judaism and the Roman Catholic faiths. I, too, have belonged and experienced many other religions but the above mentioned are the 1st & 2nd authentic ones, I believe. We'll all find out in the Hereafter, right? Good luck to you, Dr. Winchell.

You, sir, are clearly an instrument of Satan. God IS loving and sins need to be punished. Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice for sin, and believers in that have eternal life and escape eternal punishment. The Bible is God's Holy Word and does not contradict any concept of a loving God.

Try Humanism. The concept of God is not necessary for the human race.
