Model Rockets

Peter Alway's Home Page

Model rocketry--you may remember it as "Estes Rockets"--is a hobby built around pre-manufactured solid rocket engines.  The challenge is to build a model that flies the highest, stays up longest, looks most like real rocket, glides, helicopters, or parachutes down, or looks just plain cool on the ground or in the air.  I specialize in scale model rockets, but I fly contests motivate me to build all kinds of model rockets.  Large model rocketry eventually becomes the relatively new hobby of high-power rocketry.  High power is a bit expensive for my taste, but you may want to explore it, too.
