Alfa Romeo 8c2300 (1932)

This early chassis has a great, and now clear history with the discovery of the original engine and the documentation of official government microfilms listing this Alfa's life from 1932 to 1939. Raced by a very famous Scuderia as one of the first series one cars, she was used for parts in the mid 1930's to support other cars raced by the Scuderia. My big day was tracking down the family surviving members , who lead me to the ''team's'' mechanics relatives - in turn a wood shed full of spare parts. On the side of an RLSS engine was the original engine remains of the 8c - broken -busted and perfectly unaltered. In the family's photo album was papa's invoices and notes. Although always run as a complete car through-out it's life, the chassis had slight modifications that concealed it's identity -which I carefully documented as it unfolded. When I held the sump to the chassis, it lined up perfectly in the original holes. The other holes for engine supports showed 3 different type of motors fitted to the chassis in 70 years. Now fitted with Special Roadster by Pinin-Farina of Torino, from chassis 222, this is an exciting one off special roadster that is all 8c2300. I think it's a $2.5M car finished , and a Pebble Beach winner if restored correctly.
