On January 25 His Holiness Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje was scheduled to return to Bodhgaya for a one-day Monlam with the leaders of the many Tibetan Buddhist traditions. This prayer gathering is being convened by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

His Holiness Karmapa presided over the twenty-second annual Pal Nyammay Kagyupay Sangha Monlam Chenmo (the Great Monlam Aspiration of the Glorious Unequalled Kagyu Sangha) in December in Bodhgaya. The Monlam began before sunrise on December 19 and continued through December 26 with the participation of over 3,000 monks and nuns, and several hundred foreign lay disciples. Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche will continue his teaching on The Aspiration for Excellent Conduct the weekend of January 28-30.

Losar preparations begin on February 4 with a four-day Mahakala puja, and a purification fire puja leading up to the February 9 New Year's Day celebration of the Tibetan Year of the Wood Rooster.

Bardor Tulku Rinpoche will continue his teaching on the Bodhicharyavatara by Shantideva the weekend of February 18-20.

At the KTCs:

Lama Kathy Wesley will teach on "Cultivating Compassion through Buddhist Practice" the weekend of January 28-30 at the Boston KKSG.

The Santa Monica KKSG will host the Buddha Relics Tour from February 4-6.
