Friday 11 June 2004 at 19:00.

Banquet

The conference banquet on Saturday, June 12, 2004 at Älvsborgs fästning (Elfsborg Fortress).

Elfsborg's Fortress has traditions Ever since the 17th century, the fortress has been keeping watch over history from its proud heights above the sea-approach to Gothenburg's harbour. From here, soldiers of the king kept their eyes on the sea, alert to any threatening ships that they might have to drive on the run by firing Elfsborg's mighty cannons. Today, happily, things are different, and we are welcome to enjoy a memorable experience and delicious dinner in a fortress that was once Sweden's mightiest citadel for coastal defence. Minimum: 80 persons. The tour to the fortress takes about 5 hours. Price 550.- SEK per person, incl dinner.
Buses will depart from Panorama Hotel at 17:30.

Excursions

  • Vitlycke Hällristninsmuseum, The Tanum Museum of Rock Carvings. More pictures.
These magnificent pictures, some carved 3000 years ago, bear a unique testimony to the Bronze Age world. Not only do they make vivid this lost and distant time to us, but these powerful images also have the ability to speak directly to the modern onlooker.
A bus will take you to the Tanum Museum where you will be guided through the museum. The bus will take you back to Göteborg via the coast, driving through the islands of Orust and Tjörn. This will give you the opportunity to see the beautiful Swedish West Coast with its rocky archipelago and the typical fishing villages with their wooden houses and narrow streets.
