Get set for the "stampede" as the sound of techno cowboy music prepares to rock your stereo. Despite the western-in-space aesthetics of the show, Trigun’s soundtrack is hardly honky-tonk with its mix of hip-hop and electronica.
Made popular through its video release by Pioneer Entertainment, this funky mesh of sound is the only thing appropriate for a hero with a name like Vash the Stampede. Luckily for fans, this soundtrack doesn’t carry the same 60 billion dollar bounty Vash does.
A collection of music from two separate original soundtracks and compiled of unreleased materials put together by Series Director Mr. Satoshi Nishimura and composer Tsuneo Imahori.
The music itself is an eclectic soulful sound that pulls out the essence of the characters and the themes present in Trigun, A harsh world where fear rules, but somehow good times are still had. Don’t let the hip rock beats of the first track fool you, this collection features hot blues tracks, slow rock treasures, and Techno, Techno, Techno! The songs are swinging with hip beats and harsh bass lines that make you want to get up and dance, with just the right amount of slow moments to make it worth the trouble.

Watch out DDR here comes Spicy Stewed Donut!

All In all I’d say a very healthy mix of Techno, Rock, and bluegrass that spins you in your seat.

Fangboy says…Go out and take a listen, cause this one's ripping it up!

Vash the Stampede just might be the coolest outlaw in town. How could he not be with the ability to walk around like life's good even though he has a $60,000,000,000 price tag on his head. And Tsuneo Imahori kept this in mind when he built the eclectic Trigun Official Soundtrack that pulls the sounds of everything from bossa and country western to hip hop and electronica. Imahori is a guitarist for the band Tipographica, a band built on the idea of collapse, or the "process of degradation" in music. Tipographica initially billed itself as the "antithesis of free jazz" with their interpretations of groups such as the Golden Palaminos. Slowly their sound began to evolve in new directions, especially after Imahori toured through Africa and decided there were different dialects to music. He brought this idea back from Africa and began to work on bringing a Japanese dialect to Tipographica's sound. Through this experience with ethnic, jazz and even the experimental rock music of Frank Zappa it is easy to understand how Imahori's vision saw wide enough to create the varied sounds behind Trigun Spicy Stewed Donuts
