Doctors of Naturopathic Medicine are specialists in natural medicine
and preventive health care, integrating scientific knowledge with
traditional healing wisdom. They are health-care professionals who
use safe, gentle, non-invasive therapies to assist the whole person
in maximizing the body's inherent self-healing capacity.
Some examples of conditions that a Naturopath may treat or provide
support for include: allergies, acne, PMS, menopause, weight management,
musculoskeletal concerns and injuries, gastrointestinal complaints
(Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, constipation, diarrhea, ulcers),
eczema, hypertension, high cholesterol, stress, depression, anxiety,
smoking cessation, lifestyle counseling, colds and flu etc. This
list is by no means complete. Each person is treated individually
and a Naturopath will offer support to the best of their abilities.
Naturopaths provide support to their patients inherent self-healing
through western herbal therapy, diet and nutrition, homeopathy,
traditional chinese medicine (acupuncture and chinese herbs), massage,
joint manipulation, and counseling.
