From the age of eighteen, Robin Ellis, born January 8, 1942, never wanted to be anything but an actor. He studied history at Cambridge and performed in over twenty plays there. His television credits include Elizabeth R, The Moonstone, Sense and Sensibility (which also featured Clive Francis), The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes, She Loves Me (Robin sings!), and Fawlty Towers. He starred with Lee Remick in The Europeans. Poldark fans will be most interested in the TV movie The Curse of King Tut's Tomb, which also featured Angharad Rees. He and his wife Meredith live in London and in France.
