Recipe:
Hot Buttered Rum

unsalted butter |

grated
orange peel |
| 1/4
tsp |
cinnamon,
nutmeg, and allspice |
| 1/4
cup |
toasted
pecan pieces |
| 1/4 tsp |
clove (you may grind your own) |
Cooking instructions:
In
a small bowl combine sugar, room temperature
butter, orange peel, and spices. Next, gently toast
pecans on medium heat--just until you begin to smell
the oils. Cool pecans slightly and add to butter mixture.
Gently mix (or fold) compound butter until combined.
You may use wax paper to freeze butter in a cylinder
shape, or you may keep it ready to use in the refrigerator.
For
serving: Place one rounded tablespoon of butter mixture
in a mug. Add 3 tbs of rum and 1/2 of boiling water.
Stir well.
You
may substitute hot apple juice, cider or coffee for
the rum and water. Enjoy!
