I'm a master - my stuff is nearly always 100% 4 socketed.
Today - after this patch - I'm lucky if I consistantly get 2 sockets.
Out of 15 sunguards - ONE has 4 sockets - what happened?

I made a few pairs of casual shoes for a walk-in just an hour ago...and I was a little surprised to get 3 sockets on 2 of them, and 4 on one.

I don't know what they did - but they need to undid it - like YESTERDAY. This is miserable - it's no like tapes are so lovely and bugfree there is any need to limit a master.

I just made some ribbed shirts and some sunguards to test and I get 4 sockets on most and 3 on a few. What quality tools and crafting station are you using? Maybe they actually fixed it so it matters. Also, how much artisan engineering do you have? I wonder if they messed with it so that now we only use artisan experimentation.

Unless I'm mistaken Casual Shoes come from the Artisan tree. If you're going to test this out make sure you test it with items from the Tailor tree And people in-game please do test it! I'm at work or else I'd run one myself.

I just wanted to point out, I was using +15 tools, and a +44 crafting station nearby, and I'm a master with an extra +20 experimentation pts due to skill tapes...and I still got 3 sockets on 2 of 3 casual shoes!

I think that causal shoes are artisan items and I usually get 2 or 3 sockets on artisan clothes even though I am a master. Try at least ribbed shirts!

I have excellent tools - resources haven't mattered in forever - and far as I know - never did for sockets.
My artisan exp sucks - I don't expect to get socketed items in that anymore - but tailoring, my stuff nearly always pops with 4.

Well, maybe this is the beginnings of experimentation...we wanted it...we screamed for it...and now perhaps we get to actually charge according to how many sockets an item has.

Uhhh - you'd have to be able to experiment FIRST. and NO - not no but HELL NO - I surely for one do NOT want to see experimentation back in clothing.

Oh I totally agree with you. I don't want experimentation either. The mass quanitity of clothing we make would bring us to a screeching crawl.
I am just saying that maybe they are getting us ready to 'WANT' to experiment.

As I said, I wonder if they have changed it so that we are using artisan experimentation now instead of tailor experimenation. I didn't have any trouble at all getting 4 sockets, but I'm a master artisan.

Yeah i had this too.. i finally made a tailor crafting apron just for experimenting with padded armor, and it comes out with only 2 sockets..."okaaaaay". MAde various things when i was on today, i noticed i made a duster someone which came out with 2 sockets too, wasn't really paying attention to what other sockets I got.
But this isn't experimentation, surely this is assembly?

Im so glad im not the only one, though I wish none of us had this problem.
I have a +45 crafting station, the Tailor Crafters Apron, clothing with skill tapes, +15 tools, a city thats a research center and I use the best resources regardless of wether they count or not. Im lucky if out os 20 tries i can get ONE item with 4 sockets. I submitted a bug report on this too. Unfortunely for mem I didnt discover this bug untill I tried to make some BE Clothing orders. So the sheer amount of money this has cost me upsets me. Of course I did stop using the be items but stubborn me had to keep at it with regular items. I just quit and mailed my customers explaining the problem. I think I'll keep an eye on this thread.
I personally would not like to see experimentation added, my alts are Master Chef, Master BE, I get enough eadaches with crafting without adding Tailor to the list
However, I WOULD like to see them give us some frickin graphics for the jewlery. Wookie Armor and Space Expansion is cool and all, but how about we sit down and draw some images for schematics that have been broke since day 1? Its frustrating not being able to see what it looks like in creation or inventory... Ive been begging the devs forever to fix this =(

I just came to post about this, and find out Something Happened.
I am a Master Tailor, Master Artisan. I was wearing a tailor apron when crafting, using a +15 tool and a 44.5 private station. I made 10 BE Shirts (Formfitting Undershirts, specifically.) The results of my 10 attempts in terms of number of sockets were as follows: 1,2,1,3,4,2,2,1,2,4. I don't mind the idea of experimentation going in for tailors, but for the love of God, if they are implementing it, please let us at least experiment, and freakin' TELL us about it! So far resource quality doesn't seem to make any difference at all. For cheap items this is not going to be a problem since if they really insist on 4 sockets I will be able to make them eventually. I am afraid to make weaponsmith toolkits and crafters aprons right now, though! People really want as many sockets as possible on these and I am getting *0* sometimes now! Please ask what is going on here N'Jessi! I would really like to know if I should hold off on making some of the high priced items because sockets are broken or if this is another one of those, "They changed it. Its not changing back. Deal with it." kind of things.

Hmmm... the thing is that - is this actually happening, or are we noticing it because we're paying attention? Unfortunately we have no "before and after" shots...
I'd like to get a little more data (anecdotes and whatnot) before I start crying foul.

ok ... made about 50 clothes today. About *four* had 4 sockets. And I really payed attention to sockets this week as a few costumers insisted on 4 sockets. Either I got really unlucky today or somthing has definitely changed.

Yup, something definitely happened. A crafted a bunch of stuff tonight and the marked lack of many 4 socketed items was immeadiately noticable. I was getting many 1 and even no socketed items. We have been officially borked. :/

NJ62, (and everyone else)
This is not normal. I am on Sunrunner, Master Tailor and Artisan. I usually get 4 sockets on all the clothes I make. Suddenly I'm getting about a 10% rate to get 4 sockets on one item. Someone screwed up somewhere. A Master should have a much better chance at getting 4 sockets AND sockets shouldn't be something that is limited, the tapes already are.
