NBC Has Crossover Appeal Friday
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Fast National ratings for Friday, Feb. 18, 2005

NBC played the crossover card with success Friday, as "Medical Investigation" beat CBS's "Numb3rs" for the first time and the Peacock grabbed the top spot in the ratings.

For the night, NBC averaged a 7.0 rating/12 share. CBS finished second at 6.0/10, with ABC close behind at 5.8/10. FOX, 2.6/4, was well back in fourth, and The WB took fifth with a 2.3/4. UPN trailed with a 1.4/2.

NBC also led the way among adults 18-49, posting a 3.2 rating. ABC's 2.8 was good for second, while CBS was third at 2.3. FOX averaged 1.8, The WB 1.4 and UPN 0.9.

"Dateline" led of the night for NBC with a 6.8/12. ABC averaged 5.1/9 with two episodes of "8 Simple Rules," putting it slightly ahead of "Joan of Arcadia" on CBS. An hour's worth of "The Bernie Mac Show" put FOX in fourth with a 3.1/5. "What I Like About You" and a "Reba" rerun were fifth for The WB. "Star Trek: Enterprise" trailed with a 1.8/3.

NBC stayed on top at 9 p.m. with "Third Watch" (6.6/11), which featured a crossover with "Medical Investigation." CBS moved into second with "JAG," 6.4/11. An hour-long "Hope & Faith" posted a 5.7/10 for ABC. "Reba," 2.8/5, and "Blue Collar TV," 2.3/4, bumped The WB up to fourth, ahead of "Jonny Zero" on FOX. UPN's "Road to Stardom" repeat barely registered.

At 10 p.m., the completion of the crossover on "Medical Investigation" scored a 7.5/13, the night's best rating and the show's best performance in some time. "Numb3rs," 6.8/12, continued its downward trend for CBS but managed to hold onto second. ABC's "20/20" came in at 6.5/11.
