Shaping the Future: New Expectations for Undergraduate Education in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology (SME&T), a report issued by the Advisory Committee to the National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR), provides the context for this conference. This report urges decisive action to achieve an America in which: "All students have access to supportive excellent undergraduate education in science, mathematics, engineering and technology, and all students learn these subjects by direct experience with the methods and processes of inquiry." Join us for invited speaker presentations, plenary addresses, panel discussions, workshops, and contributed paper and poster presentations about current innovations in undergraduate SME&T education. We encourage teams of participants to come from each institution, e.g., an administrator, senior faculty, junior faculty and possibly a student.
