Greek Mythology has spawned quite a number of games in the past – some good, and some rather lackluster. At E3 2004, we were in awe over our brief gameplay session of SCEA’s God of War. The game had lightning quick, fierce action coupled with some interesting puzzles, and we curiously looked forward to getting our hands on the final version. This week we’ve taken the game through its paces almost entirely, and without a doubt, God of War delivers one of the best – if not the best – action game experiences on the PlayStation 2.

Bandai today announced the introduction of the recently formed corporation, Bandai Games Inc. The new videogame company, which was incorporated on January 3, 2005, will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bandai America Incorporated. Previously, the videogames sector of Bandai America was a division within the organization but will now be an independent company. A global high demand had the company making an upward revision in preparation for its North American launch on March 24. Today Ubisoft announced that it will be developing a series of sports titles, making its debut as a publisher of sports videogames. Its entrance will be propelled by several worldwide licensing agreements and acquisitions. Ubisoft has signed an exclusive license with Vijay Singh, the No. 1 ranked golfer in the world, to produce a Vijay Singh-titled golf game. The company has also acquired the sports assets from Microsoft Game Studios, including NHL Rivals, NFL Fever, NBA Inside Drive, and MLB Inside Pitch.
