The Making of “Gunner Palace”

In March, 2003, shortly after President Bush declared the end of major combat in Iraq, documentary filmmaker Michael Tucker arrived in Baghdad to start filming the day-to-day experiences of the 2-3 Field Artillery Battalion stationed in Uday Hussein’s former palace. “The war wasn’t over,” says Tucker. “It was basically just beginning.”
