98th Annual Conference
Where else but at our 98th Annual Conference would you expect to hear such a variety of topics and world-class speakers? This year, we are very pleased to have the National Coach of the Year, our own Tommy Tuberville, share insights on being the best at whatever you do. One of our recent graduates, Dr. Marie Rush ’98, will talk on her experiences as Zoo Veterinarian at the Birmingham Zoo and leading an interprofessional team in a cooperative effort to save a gorilla in heart failure. We also have up-to-the-minute looks at the hottest topic today—homeland security. Dr. Dee Griffin will give his impression of where our veterinary practitioners fit in today’s world of agri-bioterrorism. Tim Moore will then brief us on the efforts of his agency, the Center for Domestic Preparedness, located in Anniston, Alabama.
In addition to these world-class speakers to lead off and keynote our event, Annual Conference gathers for you experts in various disciplines of small animal medicine surgery, equine, food animal and exotic medicine. Labs, master classes, workshops and lectures ensure the all-encompassing conference our attendees have come to expect. Spouses will be able to enjoy Auburn’s new crown jewel—the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art—joining their hostess, Marcia Boosinger, for a luncheon and tour.
The Wilford S. Bailey Distinguished Alumni Dinner on Thursday evening allows us to honor some of our finest graduates with the highest award the college bestows. Saturday evening brings together 11 classes from 1953 to 2000 for their class reunions. Classmates always treasure their opportunities to visit with old friends and catch up on the latest college news.
We have a dynamite program for you with outstanding speakers and incredible faculty and students anticipating your arrival. Register early and join the fun in Auburn April 7-10.
