The National Recreation and Park Association establishes new levels of service through national partnerships that provide innovative programs, funding support, and public visibility for communities eager to showcase the benefits of parks and recreation.
Gaining precedence as a leader in health promotion and training, youth development through sports and improved programming for park and recreation professionals, NRPA also aims to become a well-trusted resource for consumers who are interested in issues ranging from health and physical activity to sports-skill development in children and parent/coach involvement in sporting events.
Research shows that four out of five Americans use their local parks or recreation system, and 70% have a park or recreation facility within walking distance of their home. Good park and recreation facilities don’t just happen—they need support from neighborhoods, cities, states, and the federal government. They require professional care and financial support to keep them clean, safe and suitable for communities.
Caring for the health and wellness of our nation’s communities as well as our surroundings is not only the responsibility of NRPA, but of the local agencies and communities.
Join the network of professionals and consumers alike who are already taking advantage of these programs and resources while supporting local park and recreation agencies.
