Over the years, KTRK-TV has grown to the most watched station in the Houston area. Channel 13 began broadcasting on November 20, 1954, from the University of Houston campus. When facilities at the university became too small, KTRK broke ground in October 1960 for its present building. Channel 13 is structured around a domed area. Conceived by architect Hermon Lloyd who later designed the Houston Astrodome, KTRK-TV was the first dome building in the Houston area.

Education, animals, and special guests -- and spilling the secret of where birthday gifts were hidden -- Houstonians have fond memories of Cadet Don. Take a step back in time, and relive some memories!
