Sierra Times Mail Policy Effective Immediately Sierra Times is hereby requesting that information be sent to this office via e-mail whenever possible. Sierra Times has a policy to not accept cash in the mail. For security reasons, more changes are necessary in light to recent events. Sierra Times will no longer accept mail with no return address. We will also be checking addresses to match the postmark. Sierra Times will only accept packages that are expected. Snail mail senders may notify us prior to mail being sent to mail@sierratimes.com , or contacting the Ranch office by telephone first. 1) E-mail
works best. Ranch Chief wants you to know that there is a public encryption
key (PGP) available for you to send us messages. For now, only send these
to SierraSue@sierratimes.com
Go to 2) Please don't send cash through the mail. Yes, I know some of you would rather not deal with banks, and I can't say I blame you. But if you can't send a check, use a money order. You don't have to get one from the bank. We are not talking responsiblity for any cash sent through the mail. 3) If you find yourself having to re-open snail mail destined for Sierra Times, please use a different, new envelope. 4) After sealing, please write along the seal "This is the original seal" 5) Diskettes? Forget about it. Use the upload link on the Sierra Times Front page. Works better and saves you a diskette. 6) If you are a government whistle blower (we've had several), we understand why you would not want you name given (after all - this is a 'free' society, remember?). Use the PGP key above or call the Sierra Times Toll Free Number 888.779.3347, and we'll have a secure way to receive your information. 7) Lastly, if you have Sierra Times on a bulk mailing list and we didn't ask to be on it, please remove us. The ranch has been getting clobbered with snail mail for over 2 years, and our backs can only carry so much. Again - e-mail is easier.
