  RollerBall
In Roller Ball, your goal is to reach the goal flag as quickly as possible while avoiding obstacles and collecting power-ups. The levels (a total of 83) are progressively more difficult. For those who wish to try other levels, additional level packs (and a level editor) are available on the author's home page. You control the velocity of the ball using a mouse and must beat the levels as quickly as possible. The game allows you to save your level scores in individual profiles to allow multiple users to record every level score. The game also includes a high score tables for each table. The game has nice graphics, simple sound, and many incredibly frustrating levels.

  Rolly the Purple Ball
Rolly the Purple Ball is a cute family game with many happy and surpriseful ingredients. You are Rolly, the bouncy purple ball, on a quest to collect all balls on each level. You have many obstacles to overcome such as strange insects and various creatures of more or less abstract nature. You have to be precise in your moves to dodge the creatues and to jump along the path. One of the lasting impressions after playing this game is the nicely done paralax background scrolling. The level design lacks somewhat in details, however that doesn't interfer too much with the gameplay which provides 10 levels of scrolling adventures with both strategy and swift thinking. You may consider this game a technology demonstration of the game-making tool called The Scrolling Game Development Kit.
Note: The executable file of this game is located in C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs and not in the game folder where you installed the game (probably in C:\Program Files\Rolly). So you run this game easiest from the Window's Start button (in the Programs section).

  rRootage
rRootage was created by the makers of Noiz2sa, which fellow reviewer Da_Goat called a ,"breath of fresh air in the world of Japanese shooters" because of its abstract like graphics. rRootage does live up to my expectations, it is just as refreshing as Noiz2sa.

The game takes shootem'up to a whole new level with its innovative 4 modes of play, they are: Normal mode, PSY mode, IKA mode and GW mode. I will not go into detail with the modes as explaining this will take quite a long time, but i would like to make a point that this game is really fun because of these modes. The thing that is lacking are real powerups. This is very similar to Warning Forever which I reviewed earlier. In fact, both games play very similar as you only face one enemy at a time and the enemy will re-spawn with improved features.

The graphics are good. The unique emerald-like design of the ships are the first of its kind i've seen. The world is set in a 'cyber-computerish' world just like Warning Forever.

The music is excellent and fits the 'cyber-computerish' world very well. The sound effects are standard stuff.

Summing up, rRootage is an excellent shootem'up. It has incredibly fast gameplay and excellent graphics with music that actually fits the theme.

PC REQUIREMENTS: Fast machine needed for high res mode

Warning Forever [7/10] REVIEWED BY HyperRussell

  Rtakagi
OK, in this game, you're a chicken. Catch the falling power-ups, while avoiding the rocks. Springs give extra elevation, grapes are special eliminators, and collecting 3 blue gems will temporarily make you invincible and let you fly. If you can eliminate all the stationary objects, you will proceed to the next stage. You only get one life -- and it's easy to die -- so don't make any mistakes!

  RunMan Unlimited
RunMan Unlimited follows the adventures of an odd-looking little yellow guy named RunMan as he attempts to negotiate a series of obstacles. My first thought upon playing this game was that it was a lot like Moon Patrol, except without the shooting.

RunMan Unlimited features three distinct areas of play. The first is the aforementioned Moon Patrol-esque running section, in which RunMan negotiates a series of obstacles. Here, RunMan has two abilities: He can jump, or roll into a little ball. Some obstacles require you to jump, some require you to roll under them, while a third type simply requires you to do anything but jump.

After running for so long, RunMan moves on to the most challengine section of the game: Hang gliding. Here, RunMan must fly up and down to avoid a bunch of mysterious flying walls of some sort.

After an amusing end to the glider ride (that I won't spoil for you here) RunMan enters into a free fall during which he must collect little red point balls before opening his parachute, landing on the ground to begin his trek again with greater difficulty.

RunMan's graphics look like they were drawn by a four-year old child, however, they fit the game absolutely perfectly. The whole game looks like some kindergartener's deranged coloring book fantasy.

The music in this game is also excellent, but I don't think it's original. Some of those tunes just sound a little too familiar, although I can't place them.

RunMan Unlimited is not without its problems, though. My first gripe is with the tiny window size. If there is a way to resize that window, I couldn't find it. Second, the game takes a good four or five seconds to start the music, during which everything freezes. This wouldn't be that bad, except for when the music loops in the middle of the game and everything just stops for a moment. In a game that is so dependent on timing, this is pretty frustrating. My last (and least) complaint is that the transitions between areas seemed awfully sloppy.

Something about this game is unexplainably addicting though, which justifies its 6/10 rating in my mind. It is by no means spectacular, but may find yourself wasting a surprising amount of time playing it.
